Rangers Announce Training Camp Roster

Marc Rovner is an experienced attorney who, throughout his 29-year career, has won numerous performance-based awards, including the 2015 Client Distinction Award from Lawyers.com and Martindale.com. A resident of East Rockaway, New York, attorney Marc Rovner is an avid fan of the National Hockey League’s New York Rangers.

The Rangers officially opened training camp on Friday, September 15, with 54 players vying for an opportunity to make the team. Although veteran players like Kevin Shattenkirk, Brady Skjej, and Chris Kreider are all but assured spots on the team, there are a few interesting training camp battles to monitor. Most notably, the final two spots on defense appear to be up for grabs. Returning players Marc Staal and Nick Holden are the favorites given their experience and contract status, but young players Neal Pionk, Anthony DeAngelo, Sean Day, and Alexei Bereglazov could push for a permanent role on the team.

Up front, the main training camp battle will be for the fourth-line center role, with 2017 first-round pick Lias Andersson likely competing against Cristoval Nieves, as well as veteran Andrew Desjardins, who was recently signed to a PTO (professional tryout). Despite recording only one assisted point in 46 games last season with the Blackhawks, Desjardins won a Stanley Cup with the team in 2015 and had 13 points in the 2015–16 regular season.
